How we build our reviews
We publish these standards not as a trust exercise but as a contract with our readers. What follows is the actual methodology our team applies when researching ad tech categories, evaluating individual platforms, and assembling the comparison guides that appear on this site. If we ever fall short, this page is the benchmark against which you can hold us accountable.
Research methodology
Our review process begins with category-level research. Before evaluating any individual platform, we map the competitive landscape of each ad tech category – identifying established players, emerging challengers, and the specific use cases each product serves. We examine official documentation, published pricing structures, integration libraries, and publicly available user feedback across multiple independent sources.
We do not rely on vendor-supplied marketing materials as our primary source. When a platform claims to offer “industry-leading programmatic capabilities,” we investigate what that means in practice. Feature claims are verified against documentation, demo environments where accessible, and corroborated through independent user accounts.
Evaluation criteria
Our product evaluations follow consistent criteria across categories, adapted for the specific requirements of each ad tech segment. Core evaluation dimensions include:
- Feature depth and breadth: What the platform actually does versus what its marketing suggests it does
- Usability and onboarding: How accessible the platform is to its target audience without extensive training
- Pricing transparency: Whether pricing is publicly available, clearly structured, and free of hidden costs
- Integration ecosystem: Compatibility with the broader marketing and analytics technology stack
- Support and documentation: Quality of vendor support channels, knowledge bases, and training resources
- Scalability: How the platform performs as campaign volume, team size, or complexity increases
Editorial independence
Our editorial content is never influenced by commercial relationships. Affiliate partnerships and advertising arrangements are handled separately from our editorial team. No vendor can pay for a higher ranking, a more favorable review, or the exclusion of a competitor. Our revenue relationships are fully disclosed on our Affiliate Disclosure page.
Corrections and updates
Ad tech platforms evolve rapidly. When we identify outdated information in our content, we update it promptly and note the modification date. If a factual error is brought to our attention, we correct it transparently. We welcome corrections from readers and vendors alike – accuracy matters more than pride.
A standing commitment
These standards exist because we believe the ad tech industry deserves better than recycled press releases dressed up as independent analysis. We hold ourselves to these principles because our readers depend on them, and because the moment we stop, we become just another noise source in an already deafening market.
